Amazon drone delivery in UK could be operational ‘in a few years’


Amazon’s Prime Air drone delivery service could be operational in the UK “in a few years”, says Amazon UK chief Christopher North.

In an interview published in The Mirror, North says “I hope so because the technology is ready to go. It works and we could do it today. We just need regulatory approval. There is no reason why we couldn’t have them operating in the UK in a few years.”

Amazon’s audacious plans for Prime Air are nicely summed up in these tweets by Box founder Aaron Levie:

Although Levie wasn’t necessarily discussing Amazon, we think his tweets definitely apply.

This is a nice summary of the main hurdles facing Prime Air.
