The RSA’s Matthew Taylor on creativity

Uncategorised

In this animated video from a live speech, Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of the RSA, explores how every individual can develop their creative capabilities to make an active contribution to our society.

We have reached a time where creativity can flourish like never before, says Taylor, and we are living in a world that is consistently seeking out new routes to self-expression, collaboration and enterprise. Combined creativity will come up with breakthrough solutions to modern-day challenges such as the ageing population. People have chosen to be change-makers and we need to make sure that assets, such as finance and networks, are available to every single one of us. History shows that writers and thinkers have tended to be elitists but we are all born with the muscles for creativity, nurtured by self-determination.

This is the power to create.
