Use anti-goals to focus on what you don’t want

Goals, Managing Yourself

Billionaire Warren Buffet’s business partner, Charlie Munger, says: “tell me where I’m going to die, so I’ll never go there.”

He’s using inversion, a problem-solving thinking technique that helps you focus on what you don’t want to help you work out what you do.

Then, by setting yourself anti-goals, i.e. “no more than two hours of meetings per day,” or “don’t work with people I don’t like or trust,” you can remove the things that get in the way of a good day’s work.
