How to run it.

When to use it

Use a Stakeholder Engagement Plan to set out how you will work with different stakeholders through a project. Tailoring the approach to each group makes engagement deliberate and consistent rather than reactive.

Use it when

  • A project has several stakeholder groups needing different approaches.
  • You want engagement planned in advance, not handled ad hoc.
  • Roles, channels and timing for engagement need to be agreed.

Not the right tool when

  • You do not yet know who the stakeholders are or what they want. Use Stakeholder Mapping & Analysis.
  • You want to assess how current engagement is going. Use Stakeholder Audits.
