We'll provide an overview of GPT and its capabilities, with examples of how companies, teams and individuals are using it to create new products and services, streamline operations and turbo-charge productivity. We'll cover examples including how language-learning company Duolingo has used GPT to create new features in its app.

By explaining how GPT works, and highlighting a variety of use cases, we'll help participants understand its potential, and start to identify ways in which it could help them in their work. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences with GPT.
In Detail

Generative Pre-trained Transformer, or GPT for short, is an AI language model that has revolutionised the field of natural language processing (NLP).

GPT has been trained on a lot of text data, like books, articles, and websites, so it knows how to generate sentences and paragraphs that sound natural and make sense.

One of the key benefits of GPT is its ability to generate high-quality text that closely mimics human language. GPT can be fine-tuned on specific tasks, such as sentiment analysis or language translation, making it a highly versatile tool for a variety of applications.

GPT has already been used in a variety of industries, including healthcare, finance, and marketing. In healthcare, GPT has been used to assist with medical diagnosis and drug discovery. In finance, GPT has been used to analyse financial reports and assist with investment decisions. In marketing, GPT has been used to generate personalised content and assist with customer segmentation.

Language learning app Duolingo has launched Duolingo Max, a new subscription tier built with GPT-4. The company's goal is to offer tailored language lessons using GPT to generate features like “Explain My Answer” and “Roleplay.”

There are other examples too: Slack has announced that it will launch a GPT-powered assistant named Einstein that can draft replies, summarise threads, or do external research without leaving Slack. Microsoft has incorporated GPT into its search engine Bing and Office 365. Shopify has added GPT to its Shop app to help shoppers find the right products.
